Northern Virginia is home to one of the largest and most diverse Muslim communities on the East Coast. Families here trace their roots to South Asia, the Arab world, East Africa, Turkey, Southeast Asia and beyond. Many singles grew up here. Many others moved for work in Tysons, Reston, Ashburn or D.C.
Big community, small circles. That is what singles tell us most. You can pray at a busy masjid every week and still never meet someone new who is serious about marriage. Family networks help, but they often stay inside one culture or one city. Apps feel rushed and don't involve family at all.
Where Project Nikah fits in
Project Nikah runs small, coach-led gatherings across the Northern VA area, from Dulles and Loudoun County to Fairfax. Every event is phone-free and structured. Coaches guide introductions and conversations, so no one has to break the ice alone. Most events are grouped by age, so you meet people at a similar stage of life.

Getting married in Virginia
A Nikah alone is not a legal marriage in Virginia. Couples also need a marriage license from a Virginia circuit court clerk's office. Most local imams ask to see the license before they perform the Nikah. Check the current rules with the clerk before you set a date.
